The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is implementing a new provider application system called Provider Network Module (PNM), the new single front door platform for Medicaid Providers. With this introduction, all Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) and other state Medicaid waiver providers will have a single point of entry provider portal giving providers one front door to manage enrollment administration. The PNM module streamlines the enrollment and revalidation processes and simplifies the user experience.
ODM will roll-out the new PNM system for all new and existing Ohio Medicaid Providers effective March 8, 2021. In the coming weeks ODM will share insight into the change, provide timelines, resources, and instructions for PNM through email notifications to providers and stakeholders of the upcoming PNM implementation plan.
Beginning March 8, 2021, instead of an ODA provider starting at the ODA electronic application system, the Provider Certification Wizard (PCW), the provider will sign in through the PNM portal and select the state agency they want to apply to: ODA, DODD, or ODM. Based on the provider’s selection, the provider will be redirected to the appropriate agency’s system to complete the application process.
For current ODA providers, on March 8, 2021, they will begin making their demographic changes directly through PNM and then the updated information will be sent to ODA’s systems electronically.
The process for adding services or expanding to other regions for providers will remain unchanged from current process. ODA will work with ODM to add this change to PNM in the future.
Over the next few weeks and months, in preparation to align PCW with PNM there will be a shutdown period for PCW. This means ODA will not be able to accept new applications after the cutoff period for each provider type below:
- Participant Directed Applications – December 15, 2020
- Non-Agency (Non-business entity) – December 15, 2020
- Agency/Non-Agency (business entity) – December 1, 2020
- Assisted Living – December 1, 2020
Providers who do not submit a complete application by the cut off times will have to reapply by creating an application in PNM after March 8, 2020.
Providers must reapply as an ODA provider by creating an application in PNM after March 8, 2021 to continue the certification process when their current application was forwarded to the PASSPORT Administrative Agency (PAA), but a precertification visit wasn’t completed by January 14, 2021.
Providers who had a precertification visit started, but have not completed the precertification process with the PAA by January 14, 2021, may continue their precertification with the PAA. However, the provider may not be approved for certification until the provider reapplies to become an ODA provider by creating an application in PNM after March 8, 2021.
