The annual Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education (OAGE) Conference brings together educators, researchers, practitioners and students to promote gerontological education and to support Ohio's aging network. This year's conference was held April 4-5 at Miami University in Oxford, OH. Department of Aging Director Ursel J. McElroy had the honor of delivering welcoming remarks. She emphasized the need for ODA and OAGE to work together to combat ageist views of older adults and to help build a robust and responsive long-term care and health care workforces.
The Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education (OAGE) is an organization of educators, researchers, professionals, and students in Ohio dedicated to gerontological education, research and practice. The organization promotes gerontological education, supports Ohio’s aging network as a resource for research and practice, and provides professional development for students, faculty and professionals. OAGE serves as the official technical advisory body of the Ohio Department of Aging on issues of education, training and research in aging. The Ohio Department of Aging is a major sponsor of OAGE.
