About the 2012 Ohio Nursing Home Family Satisfaction Survey
In 2012, the Department will survey the family members of Ohio's nursing homes. We ask a family member or friend of each nursing home resident about his or her perception of the facility's activities, administration, meals and dining, direct care, nursing and other factors that affect his or her family member's life in the facility. The Department will mail a survey to a sample of family members of Ohio's nursing home residents between June 15 and Aug. 31. The surveys are anonymous and may be returned via U.S. mail to Scripps Gerontology Center or via an Internet survey tool.
In 2011, the Department directly surveyed more than 23,000 residents of nursing homes and 9,800 residents of residential care facilities. The results of that survey are available on the Long-Term Care Consumer Guide website.
Overall facility satisfaction scores will be availble on the Long-Term Care Consumer Guide website in January 2013. Printable facility reports will be available mid-January. If you need help with a specific problem at your loved one's nursing home, please contact your Regional Long-Term Care Ombudsman program.
