Older Americans Month

WHEREAS, Older Americans Month is observed nationally each May to celebrate the accomplishments of our older citizens and to express our gratitude for the contributions they have made, and continue to make, to our communities; and

WHEREAS, [Your city or geographic area] is home to [population number] older adults; and

WHEREAS, seniors in [Your city or geographic area] and around the state can live full and satisfying lives and contribute to making the state a better place through caregiving, volunteerism, employment and family and community leadership; and

WHEREAS, just as older Ohioans are the foundations of their families, they can also be the cornerstones of their communities, serving as leaders, mentors and role models; and

WHEREAS, older Ohioans support their communities through volunteering, caregiving and other activities; and

WHEREAS, older Ohioans are integral to a strong economy and can be valuable assets to employers through re-careering, re-entering the market, getting job training and more;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, [SIGNER'S NAME], [Title] of [Organization], proclaim

and join the Governor of Ohio and the state's aging network in thanking our senior citizens for being positive role models for all generations.
