About Senior Services Levies
In addition to state and federal funding, several Ohio counties and municipalities use senior services property tax levies and a dedicated sales tax to enhance and expand services to older adults. Currently, older citizens in 73 counties benefit from levies, including 70 that are countywide and 15 that are municipal (cities, townships, villages). Seniors in Cuyahoga and Montgomery counties benefit from four human service levies. Levy passages have increased significantly during the past decade, and currently generate more than $139 million statewide each year.
