Ohio's Elder Abuse Task Force Interim Report

Publisher: Ohio Attorney General's Office and the Ohio Department of Aging
Published Date: August 2004

Introduction

Elder abuse experts from across Ohio, including practitioners, advocates, academics, law enforcement, and medical professionals had met earlier in the year as a follow up to the National Policy Summit on Elder Abuse, which recommended a state-by-state response to the problem of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of our senior population. Ohio thus became one of the first states in the nation to initiate such a plan.

Three priority issues were identified as the focus for the work of the Elder Abuse Task Force:

Separate committees – Visibility, Coordination, and Policy - were formed to address these issues. The following reports reflect several months of discussion and planning. A final report was released in January 2005.
