March 9, 2010 - The current Aging Issues discusses tax refund loan advances, also known as instant tax refunds. Actually a a high cost loan, you pay at least 200 percent interest to receive your tax refund 10 days before the IRS would have paid you. There are free programs that offer electronic filing and direct deposit, which means you can receive your tax refund usually within two weeks.

The Ohio Department of Aging serves more than 2 million older Ohioans. We help mature adults live active, healthy and independent lives through programs like our well-known Golden Buckeye Card. We promote positive attitudes toward aging and older people through outreach, volunteer programs and other efforts.
