More older Ohioans are choosing to stay in the workforce long after they've reached "retirement age." Some do it to supplement their incomes, others do it as their primary income and still others continue to work just to stay active and engaged. The Department of Aging works with regional, state and national partners to help Ohioans find work and get trained in a new skill or refresh their existing skills.

• Senior Community Services Employment Program
  SCSEP is a paid job training and work experience program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and administered by the Ohio Department of AGing. The program helps low-income adults age 55 and older to obtain skills that will benefit them in the workplace. Work experience is earned through customized positions in a variety of job settings.
• Employment and Training One-Stop Centers
  Ohio has a system of One-Stop Centers that can help you find a job. Their computerized job-matching system can increase your visibility to employers and help you find opportunities that aren't in the want-ads. Center staff can also help you develop a resume and practice job interviewing techniques and can link you with other assistance to help you begin a successful new career.

Older job-seekers who prefer to may use several online resources to identify and pursue job opportunities.

• Workforce 411: Ohio's Statewide Job Matching System
  Workforce 411 is a service of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services that connects employees who are looking for work with the employers who need them. Browse more than 4,000 job listings from all over the state and store your resume online for employers to review.
• Senior Job Bank: Ohio
  Senior Job Bank includes links to and from major federal government sites, as well as to many popular national and international mega-sites targeted toward meeting employment needs of seniors.
• America's Career InfoNet
  This national service helps you find wages and employment trends, occupational requirements, state-by-state labor market conditions, millions of employer contacts nationwide and the most extensive career resource library online.
• America's JobBank
  This free service offers thousands of new jobs each day, all posted by employers searching for someone like you.
• CareerOneStop
  This sister site to America's Career InfoNet and America's JobBank calls itself "the biggest and best collection of free employment and career resources on the Internet."
