Partner Agencies
Several state and federal agencies support the mission of the Department of Aging by providing specialized services, programs and information for older Ohioans. These state-level partnerships allow us to provide a comprehensive system of aging services and supports.
State Partner Agencies
- Ohio Attorney General
Attorney General Jim Petro’s Office has a number of programs designed to protect elderly citizens against those who prey upon them.
- Ohio Department of Health
Ohio's authority on long-term care facility licensing and certification.
- Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services
ODADAS coordinates the alcohol and other drug services of state departments, the criminal justice system, law enforcement, the legislature, local programs and treatment/prevention professionals.
- Ohio Department of Development
Through home energy assistance and other programs, ODD promotes economic opportunities to improve the profits and prosperity of Ohio's citizens.
- Ohio Department of Health
ODH safeguards the public health by providing education and statistics as well as tracking health risks and preparing the state's response to them.
- Ohio Department of Insurance
ODI safeguards consumer interests through education and vigilance while promoting a stable and competitive marketplace among insurance providers.
- Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
ODJFS administers many of the state's social and employment services and personal assistance programs.
- Ohio Department of Mental Health
ODMH works with county and multi-county boards and nearly 500 community mental health agencies to provide care for the uninsured and compensate for inadequate benefits in commercial health insurance plans.
- Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities
ODMR/DD supports people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, their families, the professional staff who care for them, their neighbors, their friends and anyone committed to supporting and advocating for individuals with special needs.
- Ohio Secretary of State
The Secretary of State oversees voting efforts throughout the state and grants businesses the authority to do business in Ohio.

- Administration on Aging - AoA
The AoA is the official Federal agency dedicated to policy development, planning and the delivery of supportive home and community-based services to older persons and their caregivers through the national aging network
- Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
The official U.S. Government web site for people with Medicare provides general program information and helps beneficiaries choose the coverage that best meets their needs.
- Department of Health and Human Services
The Federal Department of Health and Human Services is the principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.
- National Institute on Aging
The NIA leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life.
- National Institutes of Health
The NIH today is one of the world's foremost medical research centers, and the federal focal point for medical research in the U.S.
- Social Security Administration
The federal authority for Social Security and Medicare benefits.
- U.S. Department of Agriculture
USDA provides federal funds and guidelines for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
- Veterans Affairs Department
The VA Web site is a worldwide resource that provides information on VA programs, veterans benefits, VA facilities worldwide, and VA medical automation software.
